TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Bikes
Commercially available mountain bike pedelecs with motor assistance up to a maximum of 25 km/h are permitted for the EMTB Transalp. Systems that can be switched from pedelec to speed pedelec during the competition are excluded from the race.

Transponder
Each participant will receive a transponder at the accreditation before the start. This is used for individual registration on each stage. The participant is responsible for ensuring that he/she carries this transponder mounted on the bike throughout the entire event in accordance with the regulations. Participants must ride over the contact loops on the ground at the start and finish of each stage. There will be "challenges" along the route where participants can compete against each other. Time will only be taken in these designated sections.

Battery performance
Participants must ensure that their battery capacity (sum of both batteries) is at least 1.200 watt hours. Two equivalent batteries or one battery plus range extender are possible.

Participants are responsible for fully charging their own batteries. The organizer will provide charging facilities in the finish area.

Battery exchange
Changing the battery (range extender) is not permitted on the route. A battery exchange zone will be set up, and battery exchange is only permitted there. This means that only one battery swap is permitted per stage. The battery exchange zone will be set up approximately halfway along the route. There the participants will receive their spare/second battery or range extender, which they handed in at the start.

All information about participating in the EMTB Transalp can be found in detail in our regulations.
