TEST TRACKS

Here you will find the test tracks for Gravel Ground 2025, where you can test ride bikes to your heart's content. There are three different challenging tracks to choose from.

Test track 1 - Blue route: Easy

The blue route is flat and suitable for everyone. Fine gravel and two small meadow trails show you how well the tires run on the ground. The route takes you from the event site to a former railway line and to Lake Ewald, which you circle once. While cycling, be sure to take a look at the natural surroundings.

Test track 2 - Red route: Medium

The red route takes you to the neighboring Hoppenbruch slag heap. Here, you will need to pedal harder uphill and can test your bike on climbs and descents. At the top, near the wind turbine, you will have a great view of the surrounding area before the trail leads you back down again. A beautiful trail through the forest takes you back to the Hoheward slag heap.

Test track 3 - Black route: Demanding

The black route takes you around and up the Hoheward slag heap. Not only does it involve some steep climbs and descents, but you should also have sufficient off-road experience and enjoy being active. The existing MTB cross-country trail is used repeatedly for the uphill sections before you reach the “roof” of the slag heap at the obelisk. At the end, a rapid descent takes you back to the festival grounds.

PLEASE NOTE: The black route can only be ridden on Saturday, September 27, from 1:30 p.m. (after the gravel race)!
