Tour “Small stockpile experience” with @mtb_road_anni

36 gravel kilometers to the “mountains of the Ruhr” - the slag heaps. From the festival site, the route begins with a relaxed ride through the Emscher Bruch and along the Rhine-Herne Canal to the foot of the Schurenbachhalde spoil tip in the north of Essen.

This is followed by the Braucker Alpen and the ascent to the Mottbruchhalde in Gladbeck. The route finally leads across fields and meadows past the Rungenberg spoil tip back to the festival site.

Tour “Ruhr Area Compact” with Andreas

This 30-kilometre gravel ride from Andreas shows you the exciting mix of impressive industrial culture, fast railroad cycle paths, idyllic country life, natural forests and, of course, impressive slag heaps.

Highlights include the Allee des Wandels and the Schlägel & Eisen colliery. Above all, however, the numerous casual gravel trails make the hearts of gravel bikers beat faster

Tour “Urban GravelRide - Between StreetArt & LostPlaces” with Pascal

It's not just the countryside that's great for gravel riding, there are also exciting places to discover in urban areas.

Pascal shows you a particularly interesting mix of slag heaps, classic railroad lines, overgrown lost places, unusual street art, relics of the mining past and, of course, laid-back gravel roads.

Tour “Experience the green side of the pot” with @mtb_road_anni

The Ruhr region is densely built-up and there's no room for nature? Far from it, as Anni will prove to you on this 32-kilometer ride. As soon as you leave the festival site, it quickly turns green as the Allee des Wandels winds its way north through a beautiful wooded area. This is followed by wide fields and pastures, several nature reserves and lots of lush greenery! Only briefly in the old village of Westerholt does it become urban - with beautiful historic half-timbered houses.

Tour “Adel & Arena - The Ruhr area away from mining” with @nordpott.gravel

The guys from nordpott gravel take you on a discovery tour away from the much-cited industrial culture. This gravel ride takes you past three moated castles.

With the arena at Schalke and the sophisticated Stölting Harbour on the canal, the most diverse groups of people meet very close to each other.

An exciting contrast that makes this tour impressive time and time again.

Tour “Big gravel tour around Herne” with Andreas

The only tour at the Gravel Ground that leads from the festival site to the south-east. With an elevation gain of 300 meters, there are quite a few climbs waiting for the group, so the tour is definitely sporty.

With Herne, Castrop-Rauxel, Bochum and Herten, you can quickly jump from one city to the next - and on the best gravel!

Tour “One-Way-Tour Coke, Steel, Coal” with @mtb_road_anni

First of all, you'll take the bus and bike trailer (free of charge) to Duisburg on the Rhine - from there you'll cycle back to the festival site. Top highlights such as the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park with its disused steelworks, the huge Oberhausen Gasometer, the Berne Park as a disused sewage treatment plant and the Schurenbachhalde are right on the way.

There is also an extra portion of riverside paths directly on the popular Rhine-Herne Canal. An absolute top recommendation, especially for out-of-town visitors to the Gravel Ground.

Tour “One Way into the Haard” with @nordpott.gravel

From the festival site, the bus shuttle (incl. bike trailer - free of charge) will take you north to the largest forest area in the Ruhr region - the Haard.

Fast forest highways and tricky trails provide the right variety and lots of gravel fun in the middle of the forest. At the end, the route takes you across fields and meadows back to Ewald colliery.

Supernova nightride to the training mine with Jochen

On the Nightride to the training mine, Jochen will first take you up to the Hoheward slag heap with the best panoramic view of the lights of our city!

Over the Dragon Bridge, past the Recklinghausen mine to the Emscher. By the latest in the forest area of the Emscherbruch, the test lights from Supernova can really show what they are made of. In the spotlight through the night, we head back to the festival area.

Supernova nightride to Herten Castle

This Nightride is identical to the "To Herten Castle" tour of Pascal and Christoph. However, the round takes on a completely different charm at night. In the dark forest, the test lights from Supernova can really show what they are capable of.

As a reward, in addition to the illuminated moated castle, there is a beautifully illuminated colliery ensemble on Schlägel & Eisen and finally a panoramic view of the lights of the Ruhr region from the balcony promenade of the Halde Hoheward.
